"Printing as Ritual: Exploring the Intersection of Printmaking and Performance"

In 2022, with the support of Neustart Kultur #takeHeart and Fond darstellende Künste, I embarked on an exploration of the intricate relationship between printmaking and performance. This research delved into how the rhythmic repetition of bodily movements in printmaking can serve as a bridge between past and present, or highlight specific tasks and ideas.

A key part of this journey involved conducting linocut workshops in public spaces, including the University Garden of UDK and the Ufer Studio for Dance in Berlin. These workshops allowed participants to engage with the tactile and rhythmic nature of printmaking, fostering a deep connection between the physical act of creation and the conceptual foundations of the artworks produced.

Through this multifaceted exploration, I sought to uncover the rich symbolism and ritualistic qualities that arise at the intersection of printmaking and performance. The project aimed to highlight their ability to evoke memory, stir emotion, and challenge conventional boundaries of artistic expression.
