"Under the Same Sky. Patterns and Other Beings" is an intervention by the Master's program Cultures of the Curatorial in the Damascus Room at the Japanisches Palais.
The Damascus Room, a restored Syrian reception room from the late 19th century, was brought to Germany at the end of the 19th century. It carries visible and invisible traces of history. Contemporary artistic positions engage with both the explicit and implicit patterns of the exhibit, addressing architectures, infrastructures, and places while questioning memory and identity.
